This page explains how EGMenus ("we", "us"), available at egmenus.com, handles your data when you use the site. By using the site you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

The site does not require an account and we do not directly collect personally identifiable information. Non-personal usage data (such as pages visited, browser and device type) is collected automatically through cookies and the analytics tools described below. If you contact us by email, we use your address only to reply to your message.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure usage, and serve advertising. You can configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies; some site features may be affected.

Advertising — Google AdSense

We display ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

Analytics — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (visit counts, most-viewed pages, and so on). This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you. You can disable Google Analytics with the official opt-out browser add-on.

Visitors from the EEA and UK

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message before advertising cookies are used, in line with the GDPR.

The EGMenus mobile app

This section applies to the EGMenus app for iOS and Android (effective September 24, 2026). The app is free, read-only, and requires no account or login; it has no ads and no purchases. It loads content from our own API at www.egmenus.com, which is covered by the rest of this policy, and its menu and photo content comes from the same third-party sources described on the site.

• Location: optional, and only requested when you tap "Near you" or "Use my current location". It is used solely to sort restaurants by distance. Coordinates are rounded to about 100 m (3 decimal places) before being sent to our servers and are not stored with any identifier.
• Analytics: we use PostHog (hosted on EU servers) for anonymous product analytics — screen views and taps (e.g. call, directions, share), a random device identifier generated by the app, app version, language, and operating system. We do not use advertising identifiers and do not track you across other apps. Analytics is only active if the app build includes an analytics key.
• Feedback forms: when you suggest a restaurant, report a wrong price, or contact us, the fields you fill in and an optional photo are emailed to us (via Resend) and used only to follow up on that request.
• Cached content: menus you open are stored on your device so you can view them offline. Clearing the app's data removes them.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

The site links to external websites (such as restaurants' social media pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
